Julie Wenzel was born in Nuremberg, Germany. Her family emigrated to Canada when she was seven years old, settling near the city of Niagara Falls. She attended the University of Western Ontario, where she obtained a degree in Speech Therapy, specializing in the treatment of stuttering. After graduating, she worked as a speech pathologist for children and adults with speech disorders in Toronto
Her personal interest in writing about her experiences as a speech-language pathologist led her to write Beyond the Stuttering Momentum, which was published in 2005. Julie is passionate about continuing to explore new avenues for healing stuttering through research and education.
